About us ![]() Social Firms Wales offers the following services to it's members: • Consultancy Services from Feasibility studies to Business Planning • Provide business support to developing Social Firms in the region • Facilitate training for emerging or existing Social Firm managers • Raise the profile of Social Firms • Secure resources for the further development of Social Firms • Develop links with businesses • Promote and disseminate research into the Social Firm sector • Establish best practice and improve conditions for Social Firms • Map the development of Social Firms • Offer opportunities for networking and inter-trading • Work in partnership to deliver support to social enterprises • Work strategically with the Welsh Assembly and the Welsh Development Agency and others to influence policy and action for social enterprise development in the region. Social Firms Wales offers the following services and support to its members: Tools & Resources: Access to specialist tools and resources developed for the sector, including the Performance Dashboard and DIY Feasibility Toolkit completely free of charge to members (£90 to non-members) Online Networking: Access to the Members Forum on the Social Firms UK website including a discussion board, member contact details and free resources for members only Benefits & Work Agony Aunt: Access to the NEW Agony Aunt ‘Question and Answer’ section on Benefits and Work Resource Centre: Access to the comprehensive Social Firms UK Resource Centre with many items discounted for members Advice: Access to advice and guidance on Social Firm development issues Informing Policy: Opportunity to help shape the future of the Social Firm sector by participating and responding to sector consultations carried out by Social Firms UK National Profile: Promotion at a national level of services and products offered by Social Firms and Emerging Social Firms, collectively and individually Purchasing Services:Access to advantageous rates or services that Social Firms UK has negotiated on behalf of the sector Reduced Delegate Rate: Discounted member rate at Social Firms UK’s annual conference and any other events held through the year Membership of the Social Enterprise Coalition (SEC): Automatic membership of this important organisation representing social enterprise to government including discounts at conferences, events and on publications Regular Sector News: Regular bulletins alerting members to e.g. new funding initiatives, resources, programmes, information about lobbying and policy work carried out by Social Firms UK and other sector news Social Firm Network: Membership of regional/national Social Firm networks where active Social Enterprise Magazine: Discount on subscription to the most relevant trade press for the sector, Social Enterprise Magazine, from £65 to £50 |
