Dee-Tex
Dee-Tex facilitates local textile recycling collections and utilises any surplus of income over expenditure to contribute towards local community and charitable causes. Several thousand pounds has been generated for local organisations through working with Dee Tex. Being a not for personal profit organisation all surpluses are used to continually develop the project.
The model has been developed by locating ‘Pink’ Clothing Banks at various locations in Flintshire with a certain amount of money per tonne being given back to the host organisations to raise money for their own individual causes. Schools also undertake collection days generating much needed cash for their own projects and finally, targeted kerbside collections are undertaken again generating income for local groups etc. They have recently opened a shop in Shotton called ‘ReDressed’ where affordable clothing sold to raise money to create jobs for people disadvantaged in the labour market
Dee-Tex now has 5 employees all funded from trading

Established by Gofal Cymru, one of the leading mental health charities in Wales, we wanted to sell products that have a positive link with mental health and well-being. That is why our main product range is based around nuts, seeds and dried fruit.
Research has shown that eating food groups such as nuts can have a positive impact on your mental health as they provide essential nutrients that help to keep the brain healthy.
Creating employment...
We are really proud that we have provided job opportunities for people who have experienced mental health problems. We aim to give all our staff a supportive and professional environment in which to work and we are also aiming to help to reduce stigma and bust some of the myths surrounding mental ill-health.
NotJustNuts actively promote the links between a healthy diet and mental well-being. All surplus profits are donated to charity. Products are local, organic and fairtrade certified where possible.
