Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund Launch

Micro Fund Launch Monday 5th December 2016

After much planning, it’s now full steam ahead for the £1.8 million a year Community Fund set up by energy company Vattenfall for the benefit of host communities in the upper Afan, Cynon, Neath and Rhondda Valleys. A new, independent and locally accountable Community Interest Company has been established to manage the Fund and two staff members have been appointed to oversee and guide day to day management.

As you’ll know, this is no ordinary Fund - residents and communities themselves have defined funding priorities. The Fund belongs to the people who will benefit from it.

On Monday 5th December, they'll be out and about launching the first Micro Fund round.  This offers one-off grants of up to £5,000 to support important aspects of community life such as small items of equipment, activities, events, projects, start-ups and training courses.

They’ll be talking about how the new Community Interest Company will work, about the Fund in general and the Micro Fund application process in particular – answering questions and meeting as many people as possible.

They hope that you can join them at one of the venues shown below, and would be grateful if you could confirm by Monday 28th November which is best for you.  There will be a limited number of places, so it would be great if you could let them know as soon as you can.

If you aren’t able to make the 5th, don’t worry! They’ll be holding regular drop-in sessions with dates already planned for December and January – They'll let you know when and where these will be.
