Greenstream Flooring CIC was established in 2008 to provide an alternative to sending carpet tiles to landfill.  They are a social enterprise based in the South Wales Valleys and working throughout the UK to divert carpet tiles from landfill for community benefit.

Greenstream Flooring CIC provides affordable flooring to people, especially families on low incomes.  Their brand Homelife provides a supply and fit service, through this we can supply and fit all forms of flooring including vinyl and broadloom.

In 2013 they diverted over 85,000m2 of carpet tiles from landfill, the equivalent of more than 12 football pitches.  This was an increase of 240% on 2012 when they diverted 35,600m2 of carpet tiles.  In 2013 they worked with 25 volunteers and placements providing a range of experience and training from office based roles to warehouse and fitting.  They aim to provide secure and sustainable employment, working closely with team members to develop both their professional and personal skills and knowledge.

Through Homelife they have been able to support people to make their house a home and make carpet an affordable option.  They have expanded the range to not only include reused carpet tiles but also broadloom carpet more suited to stairs and recently developing a way to take offcuts that can be used for this rather than sent to waste.  In January 2014 they opened there warehouse for three days in order to give away carpet tiles for free.  In our 3 for 3 event we gave away over 5000m2 of carpet tiles, enough to carpet nearly 300 average sized rooms.
