Rwy’n awdur, golygydd a sylwebydd niwroamrywiol. n y Spotlight hwn, rwy’n hyrwyddo fy ngwasanaeth golygu copi — gwasanaeth rwy’n bwriadu ei ehangu i gynnwys cynnig gwasanaethau eraill hefyd. Dechreuais yn y maes pan ddechreuais redeg adran gerddoriaeth gwefan ffeministaidd rhyngbleidiol The F-Word yn 2011. Dechreuais olygu ar sail freelance yn 2013 ac ers hynny rwyf wedi gweithio gyda chleientiaid busnes o amrywiaeth o sectorau (gan gynnwys datblygiad rhyngwladol, addysg a meddygaeth) ac wedi cydweithio â llawer o awduron unigol i’w helpu i wneud eu gwaith yn gliriach ac yn fwy hygyrch.

I’m a neurodivergent writer, editor and pundit. In this Spotlight, I’m promoting my copy‑editing business - which I'm looking to expand to include other services. I got into this line of work when I began running the music section of intersectional feminist website, The F‑Word, in 2011. I started editing on a freelance basis in 2013 and have since then taken on business clients from a variety of sectors (including international development, education and medicine) and worked with many individual authors to help them make their work clearer and more accessible.

1. In‑depth copy‑editing
Some of my work involves making adjustments for house style and reference standardisation, lightly rephrasing for clarity, and removing unnecessary repetition. However, much of it requires me to go further by tackling sentence structure and wording, refining structure, flow, clarity and style while still preserving the author’s voice.
2. Proofreading
This service involves minimal editorial comments and applies to finished pieces that only require checking for consistency, spelling, grammar, spacing, punctuation errors and other minor issues.

I’m based in Newport, South Wales, but editing for the international development sector means most of my clients so far have been in the south‑east of England. The time has come for me to find my Welsh clients! |

As a potential service user, I gave feedback to an organisation for autistic people, which was then acted on. My feedback was centred on wording on their website that could be updated to better reflect the social model of disability. Having received a positive response to this feedback, I'm now looking into expanding my business by offering language and style guide advice. |

As a neurodivergent person and passionate advocate of the social model of disability, I have a keen interest in playing my part in nurturing inclusivity and diversity in organisations. I therefore now plan to expand on the work I've done in improving and applying style guidance on disability language, via consultancy geared towards better inclusion and adherence to the social model. |
