New Grant launched for Coastal Communities
The Coastal Capacity Building Scheme is funding local projects in coastal areas in Wales and bringing together partners to tackle the climate emergency.

The 3rd and final round of 2023 will open on 4th September. This year they will support smaller charities and good causes in Wales for projects within the following themes:

Providing support to improve mental health
Enabling community participation physical activity
Enabling participation in the arts
Preventing or reducing the impact of poverty
Supporting marginalised groups and tackling inequality
Improving biodiversity and responding to the climate emergency
Improving green spaces and increasing access to the outdoors

Registered charities and CICs can apply for grants of up to £25,000, and other not for profit organisations can apply for grants of up to £2,500 to support both project and core costs.
The fund will open for applications at 10am on 4th September, and it is anticipated to only to remain open for 24 hours, as competition is expected to be high. Applicants would be well advised to prepare their application in advance so it can be submitted within the very short application window.

Join the Fundraising Regulator and WCVA for a consultation event on proposed changes to the Code of Fundraising Practice.

To encourage engagement with the consultation process, they will hold a series of in-person events across the four nations of the UK to gather feedback on proposed changes to the code.

They would be delighted if you could join them to hear about the plans and share your views on the proposals. This will be an important opportunity for you to outline some of the challenges unique to the fundraising sector in Wales and provide thoughts on the best practice standards to which organisations should hold themselves accountable.

Gerald Oppenheim, our Chief Executive, and Paul Winyard, our Head of Policy, will be in attendance to listen to your feedback and answer any questions you might have.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided and there will be an opportunity for networking following the event.
